They are no strangers to the Decatur area or the Decatur NCC. They moved to Decatur, AL in 1988; Pamela, a licensed social worker, employed at Charter Retreat hospital and Tim working in the computer industry. Later they created their own computer company Vivid Technologies and continued their work in various ministry opportunities. When the Decatur NCC site was established they actively volunteered their time with various aspects of the ministry, until God called them to full-time ministry at French Camp Academy in French Camp, Mississippi. French Camp Academy is a Christian boarding school for approximately 180 troubled youth. They wore many hats at FCA; from dorm-parenting 14 teen-age girls, assistant to vice-president of finances, tutoring, discipleship, mentoring, food service director, and etc. After almost six years of ministry at FCA, the Boldings felt God calling them out of their ministry at FCA into a new direction. After much prayer, seeking God’s direction, and a providential meeting with the NCC home office; God began to open the doors for ministry at the NCC in Decatur. The Boldings accepted the call to return to Decatur, Alabama as Directors of the NCC in May 2006.
Sandra was born in the city of Brownsville, Texas and raised in Mexico. She has lived in Decatur, Alabama since 1999. She is the mother of three awesome children whose names are Esteban, Abigail and Israel. Sandra has fulfilled several positions and duties in different companies throughout the years, from construction job sites, tax preparation, to parent educator at another local non-profit organization here in Decatur, by this last one being how she became aware of the Neighborhood Christian Center in 2011.
Little did she know that several years down the road she will be applying and interviewing for the Administrative Assistant position at the NCC and be hired as a full-time employee. As the rest of the staff, Sandra wears many hats. Some of these duties include, not only handling the paperwork aspect of Neighbor’s Day and Morgan County Jail class rosters and schedule, but also being part of the NCC Hispanic Ministry; as well as contributing with one of our Jail Ministry classes, and our weekly class at Morgan County System of Services. She loves what she does. What she mostly loves though, is the opportunity to bring hope and encouragement to others by sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. And, she is grateful that God has allowed her to do that by giving her the opportunity to part of the NCC Family. Ashley has lived in Decatur since 2003. She is married to Brent and has two awesome children, Abby and Hudson. She is originally from Memphis, TN and graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Communication. After graduating college, Ashley went to Nashville, TN to work for the Convention & Visitors Bureau. Then after moving to Decatur, she worked for the Volunteer Center of Morgan County as the Events & Fundraising Coordinator then a few years later felt called to work at her church, Central United Methodist, as their Marketing and Communications Director. Then, in 2010, she started to volunteer at the Neighborhood Christian Center, and loved it. She was humbled to be asked to join the Center’s Board of Directors and still currently resides on the Board. Ashley then filled in for a maternity leave in 2015 at the Center which turned into a part-time job working with the jail ministry, workforce development, website, newsletter, bookkeeping, and whatever else is needed! She is grateful to love her job and role at the Neighborhood Christian Center.
