The Neighborhood Christian Center (NCC) is a nonprofit organization that dedicates itself to serving the needs of the city’s poor. The strength and success of the Center lie in the compassionate ministry to practical needs as an integral part of sharing the gospel. NCC offers food, clothing, household items, emergency aid, life skills classes and Bible studies to all it serves. The work of NCC is focused on helping children, teenagers, adults, and families to overcome the multiplying problems of the downward spiral of poverty: hunger, low self-esteem, lack of good examples, etc. At the core of the Center’s work is the promotion of a genuine and lasting relationship with Jesus Christ who offers renewal and a reason for living.
The NCC seeks to meet the needs of those in our community; targeting families and individuals who are caught in the cycle of poverty; walking along side them to help provide avenues to break this cycle through emergency assistance (food/clothing/financial help), programs and education (financial, relationship counseling, jobs training, youth programs, etc), and through building relationships with the community that we serve. Our motto is Changing a Generation One Life at a Time.
The Neighborhood Christian Center seeks to help those caught in the cycle of poverty and/or in low-income environments to prepare them with life skills and meaningful employment which has an impact on breaking the cycle of poverty.
